Ilizarov is more than a frame — it is a philosophy grounded in biology, patience, discipline, and ethical transparency. From assembling frames at midnight to mentoring the next generation today, the journey has been one of gratitude and responsibility.

About ASAMI India

India's Premier Limb Reconstruction Association

ASAMI India is the official Indian country chapter of ASAMI International — a premier professional organisation dedicated to advancing the science and practice of limb reconstruction and deformity correction in India.

Established 1992 — with roots going back to the 1983–84 academic year. The first ASAMI President was Dr. K. T. Dholakia, and the association was built on the foundations laid by stalwarts including Dr. G. S. Kulkarni, Dr. H. R. Jhunjhunwala, Dr. R. A. Agarwal, and Dr. Milind Chaudhary.

This is achieved by —

1
Conferences & Workshops
Organising national conferences, cadaveric courses and hands-on workshops in limb lengthening and deformity correction, including the annual ASAMICON.
2
Academic Programmes
Publishing the CORA newsletter, conducting zone-based webinars, case discussions and continuing medical education initiatives.
3
Fellowships for Young Surgeons
Hosting fellowship programmes enabling young surgeons to learn from experienced mentors across India and internationally.
